Check Us Out!

Julz Ice Cream and Candies, formerly known as Naidu’s Ice cream has been a family owned business in West Sacramento for the past 23 years. We are a wholesale Novelty warehouse specializing in brand names like Blue Bunny, Good Humor, Its It, Nestle, Haagen Dazs, Wonder, Foster Farms, Ben & Jerry’s, M & M Mars, Delicias, and Rich’s to name a few.  We serve the local ice cream truck vendors, mini marts, schools, Churches, Company picnics, and General Public in any event that needs ice cream.

My father, Mr. Naidu started as an ice cream vendor on the streets of Dixon, California, 30 years ago.  We all grew up selling ice cream on the streets of Dixon.  As soon as we got our driver’s license, our father gave us an ice cream truck to teach us responsibility and the value of a hard earned dollar.  Even till this day, we are known as THE ICE CREAM family in Dixon.  I remember throwing candies out from the trucks at the Dixon Mayfair Parade.  Good times!!!

Today our pride and joy is this wholesale novelty warehouse, which is operated by husband Ravi, my two son’s Shivam and Avineet and myself, Julz.  We are open seven days a week from 8am to 1pm, weather permitting.  Our hours change for the winter months. But whether hot or cold, ice cream is a treat that everyone loves to eat, stop by and check us out!!!!

Best Deep-Fried Ice Cream Recipe

A few years ago, frying in deep fryers was the rage. People were frying everything from Thanksgiving turkeys to whole chickens, to even squash and, believe it or not, ice cream.
We've looked at lots of recipes, but we think this is the best recipe we have found for frying ice cream at home. Best of all, you get to choose the flavor.
What You Need for Frying
Here is a list of the items you'll need to ensure your deep-fried ice cream works out well. You'll need:
  • 1 pint of your favorite ice cream
  • 1 loaf of fresh, soft, white bread (when it is easily able to be sculpted)
  • 6 to 8 cups of canola oil for frying and a deep-fry thermometer
  • Instant pancake mix -- the type where you just add water.
With these bits in hand, you are ready to begin the real work. This is something that takes patience, so be ready to savor all the work you do because it will take at least a day or more before you are ready to go.
Getting Ready, Frying and Serving
  1. Put a large sheet pan in the freezer for at least an hour, but it is much better if it is overnight
  2. Using a scoop, scoop out 4 to 6 standard-sized balls
  3. Place the scoops on the sheet pan and return it to the freezer for at least two hours
  4. Next, taking two piece of white bread per serving, slice the cruses off the bread
  5. Place the scoop between the piece of bread and then flatten them out with a rolling pin
  6. Hurrying slowly (it can be done, it just means you are concentrating) so you don't end up with a soggy mess, form it back into balls, like you are making a snowball
  7. Once you have completely covered the scoop, back into the freezer it goes for a longer period. It must be at least brick hard before you move on
  8. Get the pancake mix ready by adding water and if the ice cream balls are ready, drop them into the mix so they are completely covered
  9. Take a medium sauce pan and add 6 to 8 cups of canola oil or about 3 inches. Use the frying thermometer to make sure it gets to 365 degrees.
  10. Assuming everything is one schedule (you can always put the melty ones back into the freezer again)
  11. Now, with the oil at the right temperature, be sure to lay the balls into the oil -- making sure that they are being put in away from you, toward the back of the stove
  12. As it fries, turn the balls so they get the same golden color on all sides and when they are done, drain them on paper towels
  13. Provide several types of garnish -- caramel, fudge, strawberry, coffee -- and serve.
That proves you can deep fry anything, including ice cream and enjoy it.
Whoever said you couldn't fry ice cream really didn't know what he or she was talking about. We found what has to be the best fried-ice cream recipe on http://www.bestyummyrecipes.com. This is a great resource for the adventurous cook who really doesn't have time to take all day to do things.
