15 Crafts You Can Do With Popsicle Sticks!

Its summer time beat the heat and keeps your kids busy with Popsicle DIY crafts. Here, I am listing top 15 ideas that make them happy, and they could also use those creations for various purposes. People of all ages could try it out and have a great fun. These crafts not only make them happy, but also a great stress relief buster.
· Photo frame:
This is one of the easiest ways of creating using four to ten sticks to it. Arrange the sticks in Square, Pentagon, or any shape of your choice, and stick the photo back of it. You could decorate with stones, buttons, beads, led light, and clay. There are many variations of photo frames, you could also do some search and gather ideas of making it.
· Pen stand/ Vase:
Pen stand/vase could be done in two ways. First, one is arranging the stick's zigzag or in square shape. Second method is placing cups or magazine rolls as base, and pasting it on them.
· Coasters:
Arrange it straight and wrap duck tape on them, now draw a circle using compass or any shape devices. Paint your coasters with fabric or Acrylic, and apply a final varnish to it.
· Cell Phone Holder:
Arrange four sticks and make it a square, now repeat the steps for five times. Next, you need to paste the sticks on three sides, leaving one side. Now your phone holder is ready.
· Letters Holder:
Creating a card or letter holder is quite easy. You need a base with six to 10. It should look like a slim rectangular box with sticks missing at one end. Don't paste it entirely, it should be partial covered.
· Jewelry:
Making your own jewelry with popsicle sticks is not an easy task. You need to master in cutting it in desire shapes. Sometimes, it might go wrong, so using sharp cutters would help in creating fantastic pieces.

A Brief History Of Lollipops

It's unclear exactly which company, or even which country invented the first lollipops, but it's certain that different variations of this popular treat existed in many places. Evidence has proved that even as early as ancient Egypt, people crystallized nuts and fruits in honey and placed them on sticks for easy access. In Europe during the Middle Ages, sugar was imported and therefore an expensive luxury item that few could afford, so candy was made into a hard block and given only to the nobility on ornate handles. It became a more prevalent item that many can afford at around the 17th century during the time of Charles Dickens, and that's where many concluded the name derived from. The Racine Confectionary Machine Company invented the first automated lollipop production machine in 1908, and the idea hit off immediately.
One of the most popular lollipops around are the Dum Dum Lollipops. It was named by a man named I.C. Bahr and part of the famous Spangler Candy Company. The lollipops are famous for its 9 or 10 regular flavors and 1 or 2 "special" flavors that are cycled in and out. Kids also love to pick out a "mystery flavor" which are mixed in with other labeled ones in a bag and test their luck. These lollipops can be found everywhere among people of all ages, but they are especially popular among small children and often given as encouragements at school or home.
Another popular brand of lollipops are the Jolly Rancher Lollipops. The Jolly Rancher Company was created by Bill and Dorothy Harmsen in Colorado in 1949, and the company originally concentrated on making hard candy. However, their candy was so loved by everyone that they decided to combine that and the idea of lollipops together. Therefore, the Jolly Rancher Lollipops were created and introduced 50 years later in 1999, and they have been a successful part of the business ever since. The shape of these are square shaped, unlike most other round or oval shaped lollipops, and they come in flavors of Apple, Grape, Cherry, and Watermelon. These lollipops seem to be more popular among older high school crowds because of its intense fruit flavors.
It certainly looks like everyone loves a good lollipop, especially with all the brands and flavors out in the market. The idea is such a hit because of the cheap prices and fun way people created to eat them. However, if you're one of the few that doesn't love to unwrap one in your free time, definitely get your hands on Hershey's Factory Favorites - Bite Size Assortment. With the huge selection that the Hershey's Company puts out, you're bound to get attached to one of them.

The History of Good Humor Breyers Ice Cream Company

Good Humor-Breyers is located in Green Bay, WI. It has become the largest manufacture of packaged ice cream and they sell many frozen novelty products in the United States. Breyers, Good Humor, Klondike, and Popsicle are among the oldest brands of frozen desserts. They are all owned now by the Good Humor-Breyers Company.
They are such a huge company in the United States that they have to employ over 2400 people and they have about six manufactories located threw out the United States. They are so big that they have to have more than 200 employees at their headquarters to make all the business decisions. In one year, they produce more than $1.2 billion dollars worth of sales. Can you imagine how many Klondike bars that would be, but the world will do anything for a Klondike.
The Good Humor Company was started by Harry Burt in Ohio. It consisted of a huge fleet of Good Humor men and that's what started their fame. The Good Humor Company was started on purpose, but the Popsicle was made on mishap. It was discovered by Frank Epperson when he left a cup of powered soda and water with a stirring stick on his porch. When he woke up the next day the mixture froze. He marketed the idea and by 1928 had more than sixty million dollars worth of royalties from Popsicle. In 2001, over 1.4 billion sticks were placed in a Popsicle, making Popsicles the most popular flavored ice treats.
To pick the company apart, Breyers was invented by William A Breyer and he made his ice cream with a hand-crank machine. It was made of only natural ingredients, which are mostly just sugar, cream, fruit, nuts, and other natural flavors like vanilla bean. The company started as a small business that sold ice cream to the local Pennsylvanians. The demand for the ice cream grew and the company had to expand. The first Breyers plant opened in 1896.
The logo of the leaf was an honor to Philadelphia because briar bush was very popular in the area. In 1926, the companies become the Kraftco Corporation (Kraft). It then went under the Good Humor division and has become the ice cream that is known today. It still guarantees only natural ingredients and that is why you can say and recognize everything listed on the label.
Popsicle was made accidentally, but it quickly became a favorite. In 1923, it got its name from children asking for "Pop's sicle". In 1925, Epperson sold his rights to Popsicle to the Joe Lowe Company located in New York. Later it became art of the Consolidated Foods Corp and then to the Good Humor Company in 1986.
Today they sell more than thirty different types of Popsicles and the company became one of the top selling novelty brands. FireCracker Double Fudge, Jell-0 Pudding Pops, Creamsicles, Sponge Bob Pop-Ups, Fudgsicles, Lifesavers, Bullets, and Big Foot are few of their products. Some of the new products from Popsicle include Tubular Twists, Dora, Sponge Bob, Diet Soda Pops, and Goal! Soccer Ball. They all can be found at the local grocery store.
What about the other companies? They do own Klondike and everyone is well aware of the Good Humor products.
The new Cyclone ice cream line is part of the Good Humor along with many new cones and tubes of frozen desserts. You may have purchased one of their many sandwiches and bars. Klondike has many bars, cones, and sandwiches as well. Vanilla, Krunch, Chocolate, Whitehouse cherry, Dark Chocolate, Neapolitan, Caramel as well as the original Klondike are available.

Fun Summer Wedding Idea: Ice Cream Sundae Bar

Summer weddings are always a great time. People are in the mood to relax and enjoy a great party, and seeing a beautiful wedding just adds to the enjoyment. Make your party even more delightful for your guests by including a special surprise treat at the reception. A very fun summer wedding idea is to have an ice cream sundae bar.
An ice cream sundae bar is easy to set up, and such a great idea that you will wonder why more couples don't do it. It can be a fairly simple DIY affair, or you can hire someone to staff the bar. If you really want to get fancy, bring in specialty gelato flavors as a wonderful treat. Trust me, it won't just be your flower girls in their cute dresses and girls jewelry who swarm the ice cream sundae station; you will find plenty of adults going back for seconds!
Most ice cream sundaes are really about the toppings, so you don't necessarily need to have a huge variety of ice cream flavors on hand. You would do just fine to have only chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and coffee ice cream at the station. The flavors could either be presented in large bowls with scoops, or you might find it neater to have pre-scooped dishes set out from which guests can choose. Just be sure that you keep the ice cream nice and cold so that it does not get soupy before everyone gets a chance to get their dessert.
The toppings are where you should really go overboard and wow your guests. Certainly you will need the basics like hot fudge, whipped cream, and cherries. From there, indulge your own sweet tooth fantasies! Chunks of Oreos and chocolate chip cookies make tasty toppings, as do chunks of brownies. There are many delicious candies which are just perfect for including in your sundae bar, such as M&Ms (maybe in your wedding colors), sprinkles (or "jimmies", depending on where you live), Reeses Pieces, Heath bar crumbles, and peanut butter cup pieces.
Don't stop there! You can also have other syrups like caramel and strawberry. Set out a nice selection of sliced fruit for guests who want to pretend they are eating something healthy. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and pineapple are all excellent choices. And of course you will need some bananas for those who want to make banana splits. You can even put out broken pieces of waffle cones for guests to mix in with their sundaes. Nuts are typically included in ice cream sundae stations too, but be sensitive to possible allergies. Keep the nuts at the far end of the line, and give every bowl of toppings its own scoop so there is no cross-contamination. The last thing you want is to learn that your favorite niece had to go straight from your reception to the nearest hospital for an allergic reaction, all dressed up in her special dress and girls jewelry!
Decorate your ice cream sundae bar to coordinate with the rest of your wedding reception decor. If you are having a country style wedding, set up the station on an old wooden table decorated with handmade fabric bunting flags. For a more formal wedding, use elegant crystal bowls to hold toppings. If your style is retro chic, create an ice cream sundae bar with the vibe of a 1950's soda fountain, complete with a server dressed like a soda jerk. For a tropical theme wedding, make your station resemble a tiki hut with a thatched roof. There are so many ways that you can decorate a wedding ice cream sundae bar, and since it will be a fairly small area, you can do a lot without spending a lot on the decorations. Your ice cream sundae bar will be a feast for the eyes as well as the palette - your guests will be sure to love it!
